The recently concluded YGG Web3 Games Summit marked the hearts of many Filipino gamers in the future of decentralized gaming.
This isn’t just your ordinary gaming expo
Zodiacs Gaming invited us to this event, and it was astonishing to see how Web3 can change the future of gaming. Many companies like Coins.ph, HyperPlay, and others have talked about the impact of Web3 in the Filipino people.
This is not just your ordinary gaming expo— it was a week long event with game jam sessions, tournament worth $100,000 USD of prize pool, and booths full of prizes and surprises. Indeed, the inaugural launch of YGG Web3 Games Summit was a success, with many different communities and campuses present.
The said expo was focused on students and communities alike, and many different gaming communities and campuses attended the event. This includes STI College Global City, The Walled City, Zodiacs Gaming, and more.
Web3 gaming is really something for Filipinos…
Yes, it is really something for gamers and Web3 enthusiasts. With many apps and platforms emerging in the Web3 space, the market is easily adapting to the users’ needs.
In this photo, Euthenia, the Community Manager of HyperPlay, showed me how versatile their game launcher is. Aside from their extensive catalog of Web3 games, it can also act as a launcher for Epic Games and GOG as well, allowing players to launch their favorite games inside HyperPlay. After playing for a while, they gave me a hydroflask with their brand. How cool!
Sky Mavis, the developer behind the previously hyped Axie Infinity, also showcased their Ronin platform and interoperability with the Web3 ecosystem. Some of my friends met Jihoz, and some of our invited people even won a random Axie! I won 1 RON though.
I also won a shirt from YGG Pilipinas as well, and PHP 100 worth of USDC in Coins.ph.

In conclusion, the YGG Web3 Summit is a blast and I’m coming back for it
Honestly, it’s a great experience being in this event. They really want to push this forward and I’d say that they did it well. I’m wishing for more Web3 opportunities in the Philippine market, and I’m all for it.
I’m definitely coming back next year to see what has progressed. Thanks to Zodiacs Gaming for inviting me to this event! —FNV
Full disclosure: Neither Zodiacs Gaming nor Yield Guild Games did pay for my transportation, however they sent me a free ticket for this event. They have no access to this article and no editorial review was made, all of this is in my own opinion and writing.
